Nathan Jay spent many years building a solid reputation with ravers on the house scene in London, holding residencies at many of the capitals top events and gracing the turntables at many of the capitals most exclusive venues......MINISTRY OF SOUND, PACHA, TURNMILLS and SE1 CLUB to name but a few.
Nathan kept himself at the forefront of his audience having weekly shows over a decade on some of London's leading House music stations including Shine FM, Upfront, Vision FM and Select UK.
In 2005 Nathan stared his own event called Club Sweetness with the first event being held at The Worship Club in London and having over 600 party people in attendance. The event slowly grew and in 2007 Club Sweetness was lucky enough to host the Baby box at MINISTRY OF SOUND for Release Yourself.
Nathan sadly decided to step out of the limelight in 2008 and take some time away from the club scene to spend more time with his then very young family. There was never any plans for a return to clubland but when covid struck the world in 2020 having time on his hands Nathan decided to return to the decks purely for fun to put mixes together for friends to help them through the pandemic as an escape. The mixes really caused a stir and once again Nathans passion for House music was reborn.
During this time Nathan formed a friendship with a group of like minded dj’s Paul Woolf, Jay Stammers, Mark Neal and Jonny Lovejet and after many months of supporting each other, Nathan decided the time was right to bring back the Club Sweetness event but this time the event would be shared equally between the group with the main aim to give talented dj’s who are regularly over looked a chance to showcase their skills and play to a live audience.
Club Sweetness returned on 30th April 2022 to the Arcadia Lounge Bar Bexleyheath to a sell out crowd and was once again was an instant success with an amazing party crowd from all round the country. Sweetness fever was back...!!!!
During 2021 Nathan also hooked up with another old friend and old dj partner Junior James and began his journey into music production under Juniors guidance. Nathan quickly progressed in the studio and quickly found success having a debut release “Messin’ Around” in July 2021 on brand new label Trademark Trax followed quickly by another release on the label with a collaboration with mentor Junior James “Loveshy”. More tracks followed and a release on Boomtic Records with “Everybody” before finding his new home at Cleveland City Records where his first release on the label reached 34 “Fool For You” and second release 29 with “Let There Be House” in the Beatport Hype Chart. Nathan is now an exclusive artist for Cleveland City and this is the only place you will now find his releases.
I learned the craft of DJing on a set of Kam belt driven turntables and a Gemini two channel mixer back in the early 90’s, and when the beat matching penny finally dropped, there was no stopping me. Every spare moment and money was spent in either Music Power Ilford, or Rhythm Division in Bow. House music took over my life. I was lucky enough to play a few venues around East London. That then progressed into various radio stations around South Essex, those roads then led me (back) to Funky SX, which I’m now proud to be part of the “Funky Family” I have been fortunate enough to meet some fantastic people due to our love of house music, this opened the door for me to join the Club Sweetness crew, spearheaded by Nathan Jay, although his ethos is that we are all equal in Sweetness (he is still the guvnor though 😉) It is an absolute pleasure to be part of the promotion team at Club Sweetness, such a fantastic group of guys. I look forward to playing for you all, you guys are the real Club Sweetness. Remember, Everywhere is a Dancefloor x
