Lauren & Paul have become one of the most familiar and popular partnerships behind the decks at Club Sweetness — but their story brings together two very different journeys into house music.
Paul's connection with the London funky-house scene stretches back to the early 2000s, playing for brands including Red Velvet, Dreams and Dugsy Malone alongside many of the DJs and promoters who helped shape that era.
Years later, Paul reconnected with Nathan Jay when he and Lauren attended the return of Club Sweetness in 2022. Paul was keen to get back behind the decks, while Lauren was at the beginning of her own DJ journey and learning to mix.
Club Sweetness gave Lauren & Paul the opportunity to play together at an event at Arcadia in Bexleyheath. It gave Lauren her first chance to step behind the decks at Sweetness, alongside Paul's years of experience.
The connection was immediate. Their set landed with the crowd, their chemistry worked, and Lauren & Paul quickly became part of the fabric of the event.
They've been with Club Sweetness ever since, appearing at every event and becoming firm favourites with the Candy Crew. Their journey has continued beyond Sweetness too, with appearances at other house events and overseas in Corfu.
For Sweetness, though, Lauren & Paul will always be part of the family — a partnership whose story has grown alongside the new era of the club.
